MOSCOW, July 28 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill on the 1025th anniversary of Rus’ Christianisation, the governmental press service reported on Sunday.

The telegram reads among others: “This historic event may be called a civilisation choice, which identified the country’s further fate, which had an important role in construction and strengthening of the Russian state.”

“We value the open and productive dialogue with the Russian Orthodox Church, which multiplies the spiritual heritage of many centuries, which makes a major input in the national consolidation. Along with the faith we have inherited the Orthodox ethics, respect for family values, tolerance for other religions, and traditions of mercy and charity.”
