KIEV, July 27 (Itar-Tass) - Feodosia Mayor Alexander Bartenev, whose life has been attempted of, died at the city hospital.

Doctors confirmed that the mayor, who should be undergone the third surgery, had died.

Bartenev has been attacked near his house. An unknown person shot in his back.

Chief of the Crimean police department Mikhail Slepanev said in Sevastopol that the key version “is an armed assault in order to seize personal property”.

A criminal person seized money, but documents remained untouched, Slepanev said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted.

Bartenev was born in the Tambov region in 1956. He graduated from the Leningrad Higher Naval Engineering School.
