ROSTOV-On-DON, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - The North-Caucasian Military District Court on Thursday recognized soldier Denis Kaimakov guilty of state treason (espionage) and sentenced him to eight years in a top security prison.

According to investigators, Kaimakov, who did an army service in Abkhazia, had access to state secrets, which he passed on to the military surveillance department of the Georgian Defense Ministry. Kaimakov acted on purpose and his actions motivated by greed damaged Russia’s external security interests, the court said in its verdict.
