Putin signs law on increasing some traffic penalties to 50,000 roubles

The law also raises the minimum fine for any traffic offense to 500 roubles, instead of former 100 roubles

MOSCOW, July 24 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law to increase fines for some traffic violations up to 50 thousand roubles, the Kremlin press service reported.

The maximal administrative fine for citizens for some traffic offences has been increased from 5 thousand to 50 thousand roubles; the law provides for the possibility of imposing a multiple fine for a repeated similar traffic offence; the law also raises the minimum fine for any traffic offense to 500 roubles, instead of former 100 roubles,” the document says.
