Three policemen were injured, two criminals were killed in the shootout

MAKHACHKALA, July 24 (Itar-Tass) - The detectives in Dagestan identified the criminals, who were killed in a shootout with policemen on Monday. This said a representative of the Dagestani republican branch of the Russian Investigative Committee told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“The killed gunmen were preliminarily identified. They are Kochubek Kochubekov, 22, and Saadula Kurayev, 22. The criminal case was opened for an attempt on the life of law enforcers, illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition,” the representative said, noting that the police lieutenant colonel was among injured policemen.

A VAZ-2106 car was stopped on the Ubekinskoye road in a Makhachkala suburb on Tuesday evening. The passengers in the car opened fire at police from the firearms. Three policemen were injured, two criminals were killed, the car driver was detained.
