MOSCOW, July 19 (Itar-Tass) - All registered candidates for the upcoming Moscow mayoral election due on September 8 should continue the campaign, Moscow’s Acting Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told reporters on Friday.
“I consider as incorrect revoking of candidates,” he said commenting on the situation, where a candidate from RPR-PARNAS Alexei Navalny may revoke his candidature.
“We have spent much effort - to make it so that Muscovites had a maximum choice - to register both Navalny and other candidates,” Sobyanin said. “I believe it is necessary to make it so that all registered candidates continued their participation in the election.”
