MOSCOW, July 19 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow and Yerevan voice concern over the attempts to speculate on the tragedy in the Moscow region in order to stir up feelings, which run counter the spirit of Russian-Armenian friendship, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

The ministry reported on Friday’s meeting between Russian State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and Armenian Ambassador in Moscow Oleg Yesayan.

A total of 18 people died and over 60 people received traumas in the traffic accident in New Moscow on July 13. A driver of the Kamaz truck with macadam, Grachya Arutyunyan of Armenia, crashed the regular passenger bus. At present, the Interior Ministry Main Investigation Directorate investigates the traffic accident. The Kamaz truck driver is accused of violations of traffic rules and the infliction of death by negligence. He has been taken into custody.

The diplomats of both countries “spoke about the recent traffic accident in the Moscow region that involved an Armenian citizen. As a result of the traffic accident a total of 18 people died and over 30 people were injured. Oleg Yesayan expressed sincere condolences on the tragedy”, the ministry said.

Russia confirmed that a comprehensive and objective investigation “will be conducted on the tragedy in compliance with the rights of the accused”, the ministry said.

The meeting also focused on discussions on key bilateral issues and inter-departmental cooperation, the ministry said.
