Civic Platform nominates Roizman as candidate for mayor of Yekaterinburg

Today he will file the documents in the election committee

YEKATERINBURG, July 19 (Itar-Tass) - Head of the City Without Drugs Foundation Yevgeny Roizman will file the documents in the election committee on Friday as a candidate for mayor of Yekaterinburg from the Civic Platform Party.

“The regional branch of the party nominated Roizman as a candidate for the post of the mayor of Yekaterinburg. Today he will file the documents in the election committee,” the Civic Platform press service reported.

“The decision is taken,” the candidate told Itar-Tass. “The only obstacle for running in the elections is the question whether I will be ready to dedicate five years of my life to the work for the benefit of Yekaterinburg,” he said. “Now I know that I am ready,” he noted.

Roizman also added that the Civic Platform party conference was held in Yekaterinburg on Friday after that he is going to the city election committee to file the documents for registration.

The head of the foundation told Itar-Tass earlier that he will head the party list at the elections to the Yekaterinburg legislature.

The Yekaterinburg mayoral elections will be held on September 8. Now, according to the city election committee, self-nominee Andrei Alshevskikh, self-nominee Vitaly Glukhov, Alexander Ryavkin nominated from the Civil Force Party, Alexander Burkov nominated from the A Just Russia Party, Denis Noskov from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and Anastasia Bakova from the Monarchist Party are running in the Yekaterinburg mayoral race.
