MOSCOW, July 18 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian Pensioners’ Party will support self-nominee Sergei Sobyanin at elections of the Moscow mayor on September 8, a single vote day in Russia.

"The presidium of the party’s Central Council met today to decide for what candidate we are going to vote. We unanimously voted for the candidacy of Sergei Sobyanin because we regard him to be the guarantor of Moscow’s social development and the guarantor of a better life in the city of Moscow,” Igor Zotov, the leader of the Russian Pensioners’ Party, told journalists on Thursday.

"We have suggested creating centers of cultural recreation and physical support of the older generation. We decided that Moscow members of the Russian Pensioners’ Party will collect wishes and instructions from old people and will hand them over to our candidates,” Zotov explained. He added that most of the wishes and instructions concerned the housing and utilities sector and organization of leisure for pensioners.
