Putin to watch span drills of Eastern Military District on July 16

MOSCOW, July 15 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting devoted to the development of the Sakhalin Region in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on July 16, the Kremlin press service reported on Monday.

The leadership of the specific ministries, particularly those of economic development, energy, finances, health, transport, regional development and the Federal Fisheries Agency as well as several large companies, namely Rosneft, Russian Railways, RusHydro, Gazprom and Aeroflot will participate in the meeting. Putin will have video conference with the drilling platform Orlan in the north of the island.

Meanwhile, the president will visit the firing range Uspenskoye, where he will watch the span drills of the troops of the Eastern Military District.

On the same day the president will arrive in Chita, where he will hold a meeting devoted to the socio-economic situation and development of business in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Presidential Aide Yuri Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Siberian Federal District Viktor Tolokonsky, Minister of Regional Development Igor Slyunyayev, the ministers of energy, transport, natural resources and ecology, the specific ministers of the government in the Trans-Baikal Territory and representatives of regional business community will participate in the meeting.

On July 17, Putin will visit the 247th multi-service firing range Tsugol of the Eastern Military District, where he will be watching the final phase of large-scale span drills of the troops of the Eastern and Central Military Districts.

Massive span drills of the troops of the Eastern and Central Military Districts were launched on the orders of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on July 13.
