Tass club gives reception for organizers and guests of World Student Games

A day earlier, Itar-Tass, Russia’s leading news agency, and the Republic of Tatarstan signed a cooperation agreement

KAZAN, July 13 (Itar-Tass) - The Tass club that is working in Kazan these days gave a reception in honor of the organizers, participants and guests of the 27th World Student Games on Friday. A day earlier, Itar-Tass, Russia’s leading news agency, and the Republic of Tatarstan signed a cooperation agreement.

The TASS club which is working on the basis of the Kazan National Cultural center opened its doors to Olympic champions, medal winners, participants and the World Student Games ambassadors as well as representatives of state power bodies of Tatarstan and Russia and the heads of media outlets. Mikhail Gusman, the Itar-Tass first deputy director general, greeted the gathering.

"First of all, I would like to say on behalf of Itar-Tass that a feat has been committed here, a feat of preparing for the World Student Games that shows how it is possible and how it is necessary to prepare such major sport competitions,” Gusman said.

In his view, the people of Tatarstan can share the credit for the World Student Games’ success.

"Our friends in Tatarstan have done their best to make this feast of sport, students and youth to succeed. Although the Games will officially close only in a few days from now, we can fairly claim that the 27th World Summer University Games have been the best in the history of World Student Games. Let me thank our wonderful organizers for it,” Gusman emphasized.

In conclusion, the Itar-Tass first deputy director-general invited everybody to continue coming to the Tass club.

For his part, Yuri Kamaltynov, the chief of administration of the president of Tatarstan, thanked Mikhail Gusman for his high assessment of the work of Tatarstan’s bodies of state power, municipal authorities and the people of Tatarstan.

“We had prepared for this feast for a long time which, as it seems to us, has succeeded. We do hope that our national team will have many more victories and we will see many interesting things in these few remaining days. Besides, the closing ceremony also promises to be interesting,” Kamaltynov said.

Kamaltynov thanked the journalistic community, especially the Itar-Tass staff and its leadership, for their work.
