Attack on MP in west of Moscow triggers criminal proceedings

Duma deputy Roman Khudyakov has been hospitalized with concussion and heavy bruises

MOSCOW, July 10 (Itar-Tass) - A criminal case has been opened into a road conflict in the west of Moscow in which Duma deputy Roman Khudyakov was attacked by unknown assailants.

A criminal case has been opened for a suspected crime against the MP, which is punished by the Criminal Code (bodily injuries inflicted in an act of hooliganism).

The investigation established that an unknown driver at the wheel of a Toyota Land Cruiser created a dangerous traffic situation near 26, Berezhkovskaya embankmen, forcing the MP's car close to the sidewalk. The Toyota driver and his passenger got out of the car and dealt several blows to the victim in his head. The assaulters escaped from the scene.

The victim, who suffered a concussion and had heavy bruises on his body and face, was hospitalized, the press service of the Investigative Committee said

The investigators are taking measures to find out all the circumstances of the incident and detain the culprits responsible.
