IZHEVSK, July 9 (Itar-Tass) - Legendary weapon designer Mikhail Kalashnikov, hospitalized to the Mandryka Central Military Hospital in Moscow in June is convalescing. "All the medical procedures have been successful; there is no threat to Mikhail Kalashnikov's health," the designer's personal assistant Sergei Nosachyov said on Tuesday.

"Kalashnikov has been undergoing preventive treatment and rehabilitation therapy in a separate hospital ward," Nosachyov said.

He exercises daily, monitors the mass media, reads books and talks with his relatives. "I've always been a winner; this time I'm going to win again," he told his admirers through the press.

Meanwhile, doctors are unable to say when the 93-year-old patient might be discharged. Kalashnikov who suffered from thromboembolia of the pulmonary artery was airlifted from Izhevsk to Moscow in the evening of June 23.
