BEIRUT, July 8 (Itar-Tass) - Western-educated technocrat Ghassan Hitto has resigned as the Syrian opposition’s interim premier on Monday, July 8, media reports said.

Hitto resigned due to inability to form an interim government in the part of the country that is controlled by rebels and for the sake of the Syrian revolution, he said.

Hitto was chosen as a provisional prime minister by the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces in March.
