MOSCOW, July 8 (Itar-Tass) - Officers of the Central Military District will take part in the Atlas vision 2013 peacekeeping exercises due to be held in Auerbach, Germany, the Central Military District’s press service told Itar-Tass on Monday.
“The manoeuvres are designed to carry out joint peacekeeping tasks. The Russian delegation will involve officers of the 15th motorized rifle brigade in the Samara region,” the press service said.
The personnel is trained in compliance with the new programme adopted in 2012. Under the programme, peacekeepers serve at checkpoints and patrol the areas between the warring parties. Servicemen study the norms of international humanitarian law and undergo language training.
