MOSCOW, July 5 (Itar-Tass) - Another criminal case has been opened against Yaroslavl Mayor Yevgeny Urlashov, in which he is accused of taking a bribe worth 500,000 rubles from a businessman in May, spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin said on Friday.

The Leninsky district court of Yaroslavl on Friday arrested city mayor Yevgeny Urlashov, accused of a graft attempt, until September 2, 2013, a source in the court's press service told Itar-Tass. Thereby the court granted an application filed by the investigation.

Yevgeny Urlashov, his deputy Dmitry Donskov, Maxim Poikalainen, director of the City Council's agency for the municipal order, and adviser to the mayor Alexei Lopatin were charged on Thursday, July 4, with "attempting to receive a bribe, by a group of persons upon entering into a prior collusion, and with extortion of a bribe in a particularly large amount". Andrei Zakharov was charged with "an attempt at mediation in bribing". The investigation initiated the arrest of all the five accused.

The investigation has launched a probe into Urlashov's receving yet another multimillion bribe.
