MOSCOW, July 4 (Itar-Tass) - Prospects for resuming six-party talks on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula are in focus of a meeting between Russian diplomats and visiting North Korean First Deputy Minister Kim Kye-gwan.

Kim Kye-gwan has arrived at the Russian foreign ministry. Neither of the sides has given any comments as of yet.

According to information available to Itar-Tass, the North Korean diplomat is meeting with Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and Deputy Foreign Minister Igpr Morgulov.

Earlier, Morgulov told journalists that the talks will center round the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula. “Russia insists that the only format to solve this problem is six-party talks,” he stressed. During a recent visit to Beijing, Kim Kye-gwan reiterated Pyongyang’s commitment to settle the nuclear problem through a dialogue.
