RAS Vice-President Alferov hospitalized

“This is a partially planned, partially urgent surgery,” he said

ST. PETERSBURG, July 2 (Itar-Tass) - The Nobel Prize winner in physics and Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Zhores Alferov was hospitalized on Tuesday, first vice-principal for scientific work of the academic university Mikhail Dubinin said here on Tuesday. “This is a partially planned, partially urgent surgery,” he said.

Meanwhile, a representative of the St. Petersburg RAS scientific centre told Itar-Tass that the hospitalization of Alferov, 83, is planned. “This planned surgery is a bypass surgery,” he said.
