Russia guarantees visa- free regime to foreign athletes at certain world competitions

MOSCOW, July 2 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a resolution on a visa-free entry into Russia for athletes, coaches and members of official foreign delegations who arrive in Russia to take part in international competitions.

The list of the sports events with the foreign participation organized on a visa-free basis includes the 2013 Sports Accord martial arts games due in St.Petersburg on October 8- November 3, 2013; the 12th World Rowing Cup due in Moscow on July 27- August 17, 2014; the 16th World Water Sports Cup due in Kazan on July 7- August 7, 2015; the 22nd World Ice Hockey Cup scheduled in Moscow and St.Petersburg on April 19- May 22, 2016.

The visa-free arrivals and departures envisage that the above-mentioned foreign citizens have valid documents, which confirm their identity and which are recognized in Russia, and accreditation certificates issued by an organizer of an international sport event, the prime minister said in his resolution.
