Russian-Italian foreign, defense ministers to meet on August 6

Relations of Russia and NATO will be in the focus of attention at the talks

MOSCOW, June 28 (Itar-Tass) - Russian-Italian talks in the “two plus two” format with the participation of the foreign and defense ministers will be held in Rome on August 6, Italian Ambassador to Russia Antonio Zanardi Landi said on Friday.

“Relations of Russia and NATO will be in the focus of attention at the talks. We intend to discuss the role of Italy as a mediator for an improvement of relations between Moscow and Brussels,” the ambassador said.

He also said “Italy is the only NATO country that holds with Russia joint exercises that we launched two years ago. We began with the naval forces, and now exercises are held with the participation of ground forces”.
