MOSCOW, June 13 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow's birth rates are steady on the ascent, Acting Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at a gala event devoted to Healthcare Workers Day on Thursday.
“Over 130,000 boys and girls were born in Moscow last year,” Sobyanin said. “That's a 20-year record.”
“But I suspect it won’t last, because this year's rate is higher than in the previous years. The whole city and each of us, its residents, cannot but feel happy about this,” he said.
