Defense Ministry to spend over 90 billion rubles to build advanced modified arsenals

Fifteen advanced modified arsenals are to be built by January 1, 2015

MOSCOW, June 11 (Itar-Tass) - The preliminary price of building 15 advanced modified arsenals for the Russian Defense Ministry has been estimated at approximately 90 billion rubles, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov told journalists on Monday.

"Fifteen advanced modified arsenals are to be built by January 1, 2015,” Bulgakov said.

He added that seven arsenals were expected to be ready in 2013 and another eight in 2014.

Advanced modified arsenals are modernized storage houses for missiles and ammunition. They do not have outdoor storage space. The staff will be increased by 30%. The commander will have the rank of colonel. A major will be in charge of the storage house.

Advanced modified arsenals will be equipped with four safe lines. They will have a new fencing around the perimeter with video cameras with in-built movement-detection sensors, presence sensors and intelligent management systems with an outlet to the single board.
