Characteristics of the plane allow it to make training, tourist and demo flights

MOSCOW, June 9 (Itar-Tass) - An AI-10 ultralight plane crashed struck by a sharp gust of wind while making a training flight in the Moscow region, the Moscow region emergencies department told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

The plane crashed near the village of Pyatnitsa, the Solnechnogorsk district.

“AI-10 made a training flight. Struck by a sharp gust of wind the single engine plane entered the spin, fell and burnt down,” the source said.

There were two men onboard. “Their strongly burnt bodies were found and are being identified,” the source said.

AI-10 is a single engine, two-seat plane. It is designed to be used at unpaved airfields.
