Detectives expose 14 crimes that policemen committed in Tatarstan

They are accused of abuse of power and the infliction of a heavy damage to the health that entailed the death of the injured party

MOSCOW, June 6 (Itar-Tass) - The detectives have exposed 14 crimes, which the police officers of a notorious police station Dalny committed in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, spokesman of the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

Four former law enforcers, including head of the criminal investigation department of the police station Dalny Ainur Rakhmatullin, his deputy Almaz Vasilov, operatives Amir Sharifullin, Denis Valeyev, Ramil Akhmetzyanov, Ilnar Ibatullin, policeman Alexander Fadeyev, deputy head for detective work of the police station Fail Sabirzyanov will face the trial. They are accused of abuse of power and the infliction of a heavy damage to the health that entailed the death of the injured party.

“The policemen of the police station Dalny carried out the whole criminal scheme of getting the testimony they need. For instance, if the criminal case about unsolved robbery was being tried, the policemen summoned a person, who was just named as a culprit,” Markin explained. In particular, he noted that this person was offered to confess in the crime, and if he refuses to do so the administrative material was falsified against him, in which a person was detained at first and was arrested then.

“After that the most awful part of their criminal activity began. The operatives tried to beat out the confession at any cost, including with the use of physical force. Some people confessed immediately without waiting for tortures, four detainees, including Sergei Nazarov that died after the interrogation, refused to confess in the crime they did not commit. The torture with the bottle was used for people that refused to confess,” the spokesman said.

The detectives found that “Dalny deputy head Ainur Rakhmatullin, head of the criminal investigation department Fail Sabirzyanov and his deputy Almaz Vasilov, who is charged with the largest number of episodes of criminal activity, acted in the cruelest way.”

“Going unpunished the policemen got impudent so much that they used the violence to beat out the testimony they needed not only from the suspects, but also against the witnesses and even injured parties. During the investigation of this criminal case the detectives have investigated the whole activities of the policemen from this police station for the last three years and exposed 14 crimes,” Markin said.

Despite the found guilty evidence no defendants pleaded guilty. “Meanwhile, the detectives did not need it. As to prove the guilt, just the qualified work of the detectives and criminal experts, who conducted over 85 expertises within this criminal case, is needed,” Markin said. He noted that the whole scope of the evidence gathered by the detectives, which does not depend from the confession of the guilt by the figurants, was taken as the accusations.
