KIEV, June 5 (Itar-Tass) - The Ukrainian parliament has ratified the intergovernmental readmission agreement with Russia. Two hundred and eighty-four lawmakers supported ratification which required 226 votes.

The agreement sets the procedures to readmit and handover the persons staying illegally in the territory of the signatory countries. It sets forth the reciprocal procedures of their identification and safe return.

Ukrainian lawmakers said the agreement would "serve the practical purpose to combat illegal migration."
