MOSCOW, May 31 (Itar-Tass) - Russia insists on the soonest transfer of responsibility in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Bosnians, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday after the talks with his counterpart from Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdzija.
"We believe the main task now is the soonest transfer of responsibility for the fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Bosnians themselves,” Lavrov noted.
It is time to get rid of the imposed care of the office of the high representative, who in fact has dictatorial powers and abuses them from time to time, the minister noted.
Lavrov said all the main foreign functions should be transferred to a special representative of the European Union. The high representative's office should be closed, he said.
Russia will help to ensure that Bosnians will take the fate of their state in their hands, the Russian foreign minister noted.
