MOSCOW, May 29 (Itar-Tass) - The Moscow city court has refused to meet Pussy Riot’s supervisory appeal.

“Yesterday, I dismissed Pussy Riot’s supervisory appeal,” the chairwoman of the Moscow City Court, Olga Yegorova, said at a news conference in Moscow on Monday.

According to her, there are no grounds for that, and there is no political connotation in the case either.

“This is not a political case, they are just hooligans,” she explained. Last year, Moscow’s Khamovniki Court found the participants of the female punk group guilty of hooliganism for their punk prayer in Moscow’s Christ the Savior Cathedral, sentencing each of them to two years in prison.

Later the verdict was revised in favor of a suspended sentence for one of the girls, Yekaterina Samutsevich. Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina serve their prison term in a penal colony.
