MAKHACHKALA, May 28 (Itar-Tass) - The Dagestani investigating agencies are probing the bomb blast on the way of a bus with the border guards in the Dagestani city Derbent. “A car VAZ-2107 was blasted at about 07:00 Moscow time in Salman Street on the road leading from the city, when a bus with the border guards of the Derbent border formation was going by on the route from Derbent to the border,” a representative of the Dagestani investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. Several border guards have got slight cuts from broken glass and received the medical aid on the spot after the blast. The bus burnt down partially.

The detectives found that unidentified criminals planted an explosive device made of ammonium saltpetre and aluminium powder with striking pieces with the power of 500 grams of trotyle in the Zhiguli luggage compartment. The luggage compartment also contained a gas cylinder, which triggered the fire in the blast. The bomb was detonated remotely with a remote control panel of the car alarming system.

The republican investigation department noted that the incident occurred on Day of Border Guard celebrated on Tuesday. The offenders knew the daily route of the bus and took advantage of this circumstance. The detectives also found that the exploded car was registered for a female resident of the republic. The detectives are investigating whether the car VAZ-2107 was hijacked or sold.

A criminal case was opened over the bomb blast case, particularly for the attempt on the life of a law enforcer, premeditated damage of property, illegal circulation of explosives and explosive devices and illegal making of explosive devices.
