BISHKEK, May 27 (Itar-Tass) - The foreign ministers from the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have supported the Russian-US initiative to call an international conference on Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
“The joint statement that the ministers have signed today, has a detailed passage on Syria, including support for the Russian-American initiative to call a conference for the settlement of the Syrian problem,” the foreign minister told reporters after a CSTO foreign ministerial session.
During the Moscow round of talks on May 7, Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry agreed on the convocation of the second international conference for the settlement of the Syrian conflict.
