Roofs of 56 of total 150 homes damaged in tornado in Yefremov restored

Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov has set the task to complete by May 26 all the emergency repair operations

MOSCOW, May 25 (Itar-Tass) - The roofing and window panes have been restored by Saturday morning in 56 of the 150 homes that were damaged by a devastating micro-tornado in Yefremov in the Tula Region, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported on its website. Similar work is being done at social facilities, administrative and public buildings.

“Psychological assistance has been provided in 102 cases, of which there were 20 phone calls,” the report says. “Citizens have submitted 409 applications for the damage compensation.”

On May 22, Yefremov was affected by a micro-tornado. In this connection, a state of emergency was introduced in the town and then in the whole region.
