MOSCOW, May 25 (Itar-Tass) - Dagestan’s interior ministry has refuted reports about two people killed in the Makhachkala blast. A ministry spokesman told Itar-Tass on Saturday, that the only person killed in the terrorist act was a female suicide bomber.

According to the spokesman, one policeman who was said to have been killed is alive but in critical condition. “Medics are doing their utmost to save him,” he said.

Sources in local police however report two victims, a policeman and a traffic police officer. According to police, eleven people - four policemen and seven civilians, including two children - were hospitalized after the blast.

According to preliminary information, the suicide bomber was a woman.
