MOSCOW, May 24 (Itar-Tass) - The popular Russian social network Vkontakte is included in the blacklist of banned websites.
The decision was taken on Friday, May 24, on the basis of the conclusion of the Roscomnadzor federal service for supervision in the sphere of telecom, information technologies and mass communications.
Roscomnadzor is entitled to blacklist Internet resources containing elements of child pornography. Apparently, such violations were found on a page of the social network.
No comments have been given by Roscomnadzor so far. However, earlier the agency noted that the social network accounted for most of complaints from citizens about information with child pornography and promotion of suicide and drugs.
Under the law, the network has three days to eliminate the violations. Otherwise, the providers will block the access to it. At the present moment, Vkontakte is accessible for users.
