VORONEZH, May 23 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said Thursday he hopes the entire Arab world will be consuming the turkey produced in Russia soon.
“Agriculture is gaining more and more attractiveness as a sphere of business from the angle of economic benefits,” he told a conference devoted to the development of business in Russia.
“It’s hard for me to agree with the claims that no project in agriculture can start paying back in five to eight years.”
“Some projects begin to pay back much sooner than that and there are some really profitable fields of activity,” Putin said. “Take for instance poultry farming. The farmers are taking many loans these days for the production of turkey.”
“I think the whole Arab world will be consuming the turkey produced in Russia soon,” he said. “That’s an exaggeration of course but the export /of turkey/ is very big.”
Along with this, some other spheres of agriculture have enough attractions of their own, too, Putin said.
