MAKHACHKALA, May 23 (Itar-Tass) - Three policemen were injured, two attackers were killed in armed incident with the gunmen in the Dagestani city Khasavyurt on Thursday. “When checking the documents of two suspicious people at about 13:00 Moscow time in the Naberezhnaya Street, one of them hurled a grenade at the policemen, as a result all three policemen were hospitalized with fragmentation wounds of legs and body,” a representative of the republican investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
The republican investigation department reported that the attackers were chased down, as result two of them were killed and are being identified.
The health condition of two wounded policemen is estimated as moderately grave, one policeman is in heavy condition. Their life is out of danger. The team of detectives is working at the crime scene.
A law enforcer was killed in the shootout with the gunmen near the settlement Gubden in the Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan earlier on Thursday. “A commando of the task group Vityaz has got a lethal wound,” a representative of the republican investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee told Itar-Tass.
The special operation near Gubden was launched overnight to May 20. Warlord of the local gang Magomed Abusaidov was killed in the special operation. The mopping-up operation continues.
