Two schoolgirls hospitalized after dispersal of pepper gas at school outside Chita

250 students and employees of the school were evacuated

CHITA, May 23 (Itar-Tass) - Unidentified offenders have dispersed the pepper gas at the school number 24 in the settlement Kadala outside Chita in the Trans-Baikal Territory. 250 students and employees of the school were evacuated. “Two five-form schoolgirls were taken to the territorial children’s clinical hospital with the diagnosis of mucositis of the airways,” head of the press service of the emergency situation department in the Trans-Baikal Territory Vadim Malyshev told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

“The pepper gas was dispersed in the lobby of the school. After the evacuation of children and school staff the premises were ventilated. There is no threat to the life and health of people,” Malyshev added.

The task force of the regional emergency situation department is working at the incident site. The police are investigating the incident.
