Depardieu is registered as resident of Saransk in the apartment of relatives of his friend

SARANSK, May 20 (Itar-Tass) - French movie star Gerard Depardieu, who registered as resident of Saransk after receiving Russian citizenship early this year, has once again arrived in the Republic of Mordovia on the way from another city he likes - Chechnya’s capital Grozny, the republican government reports.

The aim of this visit is purely business one - the actor plans to register in Saransk for taxation as individual entrepreneur. It is in Saransk that the actor, who quit his homeland to avoid a tax hike on the rich, will pay his Russian business activity taxes.

Depardieu’s first business projects in Saransk are already known. He will set up a Gerard Depardieu cultural centre that will be implementing all cultural and business projects of the movie star - in the sphere of cinematography, theatre and festivals. He will possibly open a restaurant or a small caf· that he promised to open during the previous trip to Mordovia, when local authorities took him to leading agricultural enterprises and the cheese dairy Sarmich, which produces quite good cheese on French equipment. Depardieu, who already has an experience of working in food industry, was touched and promised to open a restaurant “for common people” as he put it, with affordable prices.

Depardieu is registered as resident of Saransk in the apartment of relatives of his friend - director of the state film archive Gosfilmofond Nikolai Borodachev, - who agreed to help the actor settle all necessary legal formalities envisaged in Russia.
