MOSCOW, May 14 (Itar-Tass) - Current President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Osipov has witrhdrawn his candidature from the election of a new president of the academy. Osipov said he was dropping out during debates on the candidates, Itar-Tass reported from the Academy of Sciences.
Three candidates remained after Osipov had withdrawn: the current vice-presidents of the academy - Zhores Alferov, Alexander Nekipelov and Vladimir Fortov.
