Man knocking down bicyclist in Moscow brought to police after long talks

Famous singer Vitas was driving the car, a source in the law enforcement agencies reported

MOSCOW, May 11 (Itar-Tass) - A man, who knocked down a bicyclist in north-eastern Moscow, locked up in his car for a long time and refused to talk to the police, the press service the main Interior Ministry’s department in Moscow reported on Friday.

“The road accident occurred in the broad daylight, but when the road policemen came the driver refused from an alcohol test, after that he locked up in the car, in which a child was with him,” the press service said.

Only after another driver drove to him and got behind the wheel of Infiniti, the suspected culprit of the road accident agreed to go to the police station, the press service said.

“The protocol over an administrative offence was filed against the offender over the road accident. He was brought to the police station in the Ostankinsky district of Moscow,” the press service reported.

The police were planning to search through the car to check the information of the eyewitnesses that after the road accident the driver went out from the car and began brandishing a pistol, but the Infiniti driver handed in a dummy Makarov pistol at the police station, the press service said.

It was earlier reported that the Infiniti driver knocked down a woman on the bicycle on the square in front of the main entrance in the All-Russia Exhibition Centre on Friday evening.
