Crashed Mi-8 voice recorder found at crash scene in Irkutsk region

It will be handed over to the Interstate Aviation Committee

MOSCOW, May 9 (Itar-Tass) - The second flight recorder has been spotted at the crash scene of a Mi-8 helicopter in Russia’s Irkutsk region, a source in the local police told Itar-Tas on Thursday.

“A cockpit voice recorder from the crashed Mi-8 has been found by rescuers. It will be handed over to the Interstate Aviation Committee,” the source said. The other flight recorder was found on Wednesday.

The helicopter was monitoring the flood situation when it crashed in hard-of-access area in the north of the Irkutsk region on Monday with nine people on board.
