MOSCOW, May 8 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow has informed Damascus about agreements to overcome the crisis in Syria reached at talks between the Russian Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State, sources from the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday after a meeting of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad.
Bogdanov is also Russian president’s special envoy to the Middle East.
“The Syrian side was informed about the subject matter of Russian-American agreements reached at talks on May 7 between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry as to overcoming the crisis in Syria through the convocation of an international conference on the basis of the Geneva communiqu· of June 30, 2012,” the ministry said.
