Criminal proceeding instituted on death of miners in Chelyabinsk - Investigation Committee

MOSCOW, May 2 (Itar-Tass) - Criminal proceedings have been instituted on the death of two miners in the Chelyabinsk region, the Russian Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

Two miners died under the rock collapsed at a mine in the Chelyabinsk Region, the national centre of management in emergency situations of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations told Itar-Tass.

The rock collapsed at 10:45 Moscow time on Thursday at the mine Korkinskaya in the Korkino district of the Chelyabinsk Region. Two miners turned out to be under the debris.

“The mining rescuers have found the miners dead. There were no more people under the rock rubble,” the national centre of management in emergency situations said.
