MOSCOW, April 29 (Itar-Tass) - Lenin’s mausoleum on Red Square will re-open to visitors after repairs on May 15, 2013, Viktoria Bogomolova, the press secretary of the Federal Guards Service, told Itar-Tass on Monday.
The mausoleum was closed for renovation late in December last year. Experts were worried about the building’s rickety foundation. Since the repairs started in winter, the mausoleum was covered with a “cupola”, which helped maintaining above-zero temperatures inside the tomb. Lenin’s body stayed inside during the repairs.
