Court to consider legality of extension of custody term for Leonid Razvozzhayev

Leonid Razvozzhayev is accused in the case of the preparation for the organisation of mass riots

MOSCOW, April 24 (Itar-Tass) - The Moscow City Court on Wednesday will consider the legality of the extension of the custody term for an aide to a State Duma member Leonid Razvozzhayev who is accused of preparing mass riots.

The defence lawyers in their complaint requested to cancel the decision to extend the custody term for Razvozzhayev until August 6, as illegal and unwarranted.

Leonid Razvozzhayev is accused in the case of the preparation for the organisation of mass riots, opened after the verification of the facts shown in the film “Anatomy of a Protest-2.” Leader of the Left Front movement Sergei Udaltsov and his aide Konstantin Lebedev are also defendants in the case.

According to investigators, the film shows a meeting of the opposition members with head of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Defence and Security Givi Targamadze at which they discuss the preparation for mass riots in Russia with their financing from abroad.
