Bodies of crewmembers found aboard tugboat lifted from Neva bottom

ST PETERSBURG, April 21 (Itar-Tass) - The bodies of two crewmembers - a 24-year-old captain and a 24-year-old motorman - have been found aboard a tugboat, which has been lifted from the bottom of Neva River, first deputy chief of the emergency department for St Petersburg Alexei Anikin told Itar-Tass.

“The lifting operation was completed,” Anikin stressed.

It took two days to lift the tugboat. The strong wind and the ice drift hampered the work, the official said.

On April 19, the RBT-300 tugboat owned by Atachi LLC crashed into a Palace Bridge pillar, turned over and sank. There were two crewmembers aboard the tugboat.
