A police inquiry is underway in the incident. A procedural decision will be taken upon the results of the police inquiry

MOSCOW, April 21 (Itar-Tass) - Four people, including a policeman, were detained in the Russian capital on Sunday for beating a road police inspector, the press service of the Moscow main department of the Russian Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass.

“The road police inspectors of the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow have made an attempt to detain a car VAZ 211440 at about 00:35 Moscow time on April 21 on the Marshal Zhukov Avenue. The driver of the car did not fulfil lawful demands of the road police and kept on driving. The road police were chasing down the car and stopped it at the exit to the Moscow Ring Road,” the press service reported.

The police press service reported that a resident of the Moscow Region, born in 1991, was driving the car. The offender lacked a driving license and an insurance policy. The road police have filed administrative protocols against the offender.

“A car with three people inside came to the road police post, when the road policeman was making administrative protocols. They asked the road policeman to release the driver without an administrative protocol, but the road policeman refused to them, they were acting aggressively and they together with the detainee were beating the road policeman,” the press service reported.

The road policemen detained the attackers and brought them to the police station in the Moscow district Strogino. “A police sergeant, who works in the OMON riot police task force in Moscow, was among the detainees. The injured road policeman turned for medical aid and was permitted to go home after that,” the police press service said.

A police inquiry is underway in the incident. A procedural decision will be taken upon the results of the police inquiry.
