Rescuers find dead body of fourth snow slide victim in Khabarovsk Territory

Emergencies department said that the group had not registered with rescue services

MOSCOW, April 20 (Itar-Tass) - The dead body of the fourth snow slide victim in Russia’s Far Eastern Khabarovsk Territory has been found by rescuers, a spokesman for the local emergencies department told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

According to preliminary information, a group of six tourists was driving snowmobiles some five kilometers away from the Amut Snow Lake ski base when they were trapped in a snow avalanche. Two persons managed to get out of the snow trap.

Reports about the accident came at 09:50 a.m. Moscow time (16:50 local time) on Saturday. Rescuers were sent to the area. They recovered the dead bodies of three out of the four persons.

Emergencies department said that the group had not registered with rescue services.

Investigators have launched a probe into the accident.
