SMOLENSK, April 15 (Itar-Tass) - A newborn, who was kidnapped from the Smolensk hospital, was found at a private house in the Gagarinsky district of the region on Monday.
“The child was found safe and sound,” senior aide to the head of the Smolensk Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee Natalia Khomutova said.
A woman from the Smolensk Region is suspected of committing the crime. “The motives and goals of her actions are being investigated,” the official of the investigation department noted.
The employees of the first Smolensk clinical hospital reported about the kidnapping of the newborn from the maternity ward overnight to Monday. The child was born on April 9, after the mother refused from the newborn girl and was discharged from the hospital, and the newborn was undergoing treatment at the maternity ward of the hospital.
