MOSCOW, April 15 (Itar-Tass) - In connection with the published "Magnitsky list”, there should be no panic, but the strategic character of partnership between Russia and the United States must be maintained, State Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshkin told reporters on Monday.
The document is called "the Magnitsky Act", and the publication of the Magnitsky list is a model of a contradictory document, the speaker noted. According to him, he is surprised that legislators of the state that calls itself a state of the rule of law and a bulwark of democracy, which is doubtful, can adopt such documents that violate the fundamentals of the law and violate things that first-year law department students know.
The publication of the lists is a challenge. Russia has responded symmetrically to the challenge, he said.
It is important not to panic, but maintain the strategic character of partnership between Russia and the United States in solution of global issues related to the bilateral agenda and international problems, the speaker noted.
