SMOLENSK, April 15 (Itar-Tass) - The Smolensk police are searching for a newborn, who went missing from the maternity ward of the first city hospital overnight to Monday, the press service of the Smolensk regional police department told Itar-Tass on Monday.
The mother of the lost newborn girl, who was born on April 9, refused from the child after the delivery and escaped from the hospital.
All the police staff was ordered to search for the newborn. The relatives and people involved in the disappearance of the newborn are being investigated. The search teams were formed to search through the residential districts, all vehicles arriving in Smolensk are being checked.
