MOSCOW, April 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has congratulated the workers and veterans of the rocket-space industry on Cosmonautics Day, the press service of the Russian government reported.

“Those 108 minutes that Yuri Gagarin spent in an orbital flight have opened colossal opportunities for scientific and technological progress. And we are proud that thanks to the talent, scientific creativity and courage of the cosmonauts, scientists, engineers, and designers it is our country that has become the pioneer in space exploration,” the congratulation message says.

“Today, the industry experts face ambitious goals linked with the creation of fundamentally new spacecraft, modern infrastructure on the ground. Most serious attention is to be paid to the development of fundamental and applied sciences, the improvement of the personnel training system,” the prime minister stressed.
